Imagine waking up one day while working at Microsoft and being asked to build a way to stream Xbox anywhere in the world to any device. Well a team did get that call a few years ago at team Xbox and they started much much more simply than many would likely expect for a company of their size and it’s resources.
The team simply took 16 xbox’s out to a data center in Quincy and all they had was the phone number of “the guy” running the place to have hands on the Xboxs.
The Xbox team would call “the guy” in Quincy to occasionally reboot Xbox number 4.
That team created a streaming option so robust you can now play Xbox on the beach in Florida or on Top of the Eifel Tower in both Vegas and France with your phone.
Quick fun note, expect a bunch of announcements soon and over the summer of Xbox bringing game streaming to the masses.
