Travel around the world at Disney‘s Epcot! Norway is just one of 12 international pavilions surrounding the World Showcase Lagoon.

Norway… Enter the land of fjords, vikings and trolls. The impressive Akershus Castle greets you… a replica of the Norwegian medieval fortress overlooking Oslo harbor.

During Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival, Queen Elsa & Princess Anna topiaries welcome you to the Royal Sommerhus… a meet & greet venue for the characters from Disney‘s movie… Frozen. Take a journey through the wintery lands of Arendelle aboard a viking ship in the Frozen Ever After ride here at the Norway Pavilion.

The Stave Church, guarded by this viking warrior, is reminiscent of Norse stave churches built in the 11th century when St. Olaf brought Christianity to Norway. The church has intricate wood carvings… even dragon heads decorating the eaves.  Step inside for an exhibit of Norse culture… with rare viking artifacts over 1,000 years old.

Enter the pavilion’s Norwegian village with its cobblestone streets and traditional architecture… from the gabled, shiplap wooden buildings of Bergen… to the grass-roofed, log structures of Setesdal. Look for the wildflowers that grow on the grass roofs in the springtime!

Dine with the Disney princesses at the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall… offering an authentic medieval castle ambience. Norwegian buffets or smörgåsbords are presented for breakfast, lunch and dinner… plus house specialties like…

  • Taste of Norway appetizer — a selection of Scandinavian Seafood, Imported Cheeses and Meats
  • Viking Mixed Grill — featuring Grilled Salmon Fillet or Laks, Norwegian Meatballs or Kjottkake with Lingonberry Sauce and Grilled Vossakorv Sausage with Braised Red Cabbage

Be viking brave and try a shot of the Norwegian drink Linie Aquavit… a unique caraway flavored spirit aged in casks aboard ships that travel the world. To be truly authentic, the ships carrying the casks must cross the Linie or Equator twice in their voyages. Savor a traditional drink enjoyed in Norway… the Stavenger… a frozen blend of Raspberries, Vodka and Linie Aquavit.

Pop into Midnattssol (Midnight Sun) Bakeri where you may need some viking heroism to finish the Viking Dog… a one pound(!) All Beef Hot Dog garnished with Purple Cabbage, Spicy Mayo, Bacon & Fried Onions.

Stop by Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe for a taste of amazing Norwegian treats…

  • Princess Anna’s Birthday Cake — Chocolate Mousse filled Cupcake topped with Chocolate Buttercream

For a true Norse experience, enjoy a Viking Chocolate Mousse… drenched in Chocolate Ganache & topped with crispy cookie Viking Horns. Pair it with a refreshing Rekorderlig Hard Apple Cider.

Shop at both The Fjording and Puffin’s Roost for curios and gifts… including Norse sweaters, viking hats… with or without golden braids!… and trolls of every kind.

And how could you leave the Norway Pavilion without a souvenir Viking Donald?
